Abu Dhabi halts COVID-19 entry testing for UAE travelers

Abu Dhabi UAE

Visitors to Abu Dhabi can now enter the capital from within the country without first presenting a Covid-19 negative test result, as of September 19.

The capital of the UAE has restricted admission to individuals who had passed a PCR test.

Abu Dhabi lifted the requirement for all immunized travelers traveling from international destinations to be quarantined earlier this month.

The Covid-19 Pandemic Emergency, Crisis, and Disasters Committee in Abu Dhabi has modified the admission procedure from within the UAE and approved the removal of Covid-19 testing requirements for entry.

According to a statement from the committee, “the Committee will continue to monitor occurrences and urges all citizens, residents, and tourists to continue to adhere to precautionary measures to protect public health and safety, maintain successes, and progress the nation’s sustainable recovery.”

The decision comes after the emirate announced a 0.2 percent Covid-19 infection rate in total tests and the activation of the green pass system to enter specific public venues.
