With exactly 300 days left to the start of the Dubai Expo 2020, the official timing provider for the event, Swatch, unveiled the countdown clock at the Dubai Frame at a virtual event on the 6th of December 2020.
The online event featured a performance and tour of Dubai by Karim Nassar, a Dubai-raised professional skateboarder, and his grand arrival at the Dubai Frame.
Expo 2020 is set to hold from October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022, having been previously moved due to the global pandemic but still retains its brand name with the theme ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’.
The event also coincides with the UAE Golden Jubilee, a celebration of 50 years of remarkable progress, which will bring together countries, world leaders, professionals, and individuals to celebrate art, innovations, music, cultures, and cuisines.
Among the many highlights of the event from Swatch is the launch of the Swatch IBTIKAR watch – the official Expo 2020 themed timepiece, exclusively designed for the event.
Ibtikar is translated as innovation and the designs are inspired by a 4,000-year-old ring discovered in the UAE desert by archaeologists.
